Thursday, May 21st at 11:30 AM ET
Please join Chuck Gabriel and special guest Rob Zimmer at 11:30 AM ET, Thursday (May 21) for Capital Alpha's regular weekly Spotlight Call.
Topics will be Senate Banking Chairman Richard Shelby's (R-AL) "Financial Regulatory Relief Act," which is scheduled to be marked up in committee that morning, as well as updates on mortgage policy, the MIs, and GSE reform.
Key questions to address include the meaning of Sen. Shelby's likely decision to initially steer his bill toward a partisan result; what if anything to read from a stripped-down Democratic alternative; prospects for regional bank SIFI relief; and Sen. Bob Corker's (R-TN) GSE-related proposals, including a prohibition on Treasury's notional sale of Fannie-Freddie preferred stock in the absence of Hill approval. Also discussed will be the state of play in GSE reform efforts, both legislative and regulatory, more broadly.
Zimmer is Principal of TVDC, and head of External Affairs for Community Mortgage Lenders of America.
The call should take no longer than 45 minutes, including time for Q & A. A MP3 will be available upon request.
